iRead To Live Initiative holds her 5th Annual Literacy Competition, Launches Reading Club at Lautech International College, Ogbomosho.

In a bid to commemorate the 2021 Children’s Day Celebration, the iRead To Live Team, Ogbomosho chapter led by Oluwafisayomi Adeoti alongside her colleagues, Akeredolu Oluwatimileyin, Oladapo Victoria, Ogunwale Damilola and Yahya Olalekan hosted the 5th Annual Literacy Competition.

The event which was tagged “Rethinking the Future of Literacy” had in attendance a cross-section of teachers and students of the institution. Ms. Oluwafisayomi, the team lead gave the opening speech and recognised all invited guests, participants, and audience.

Swiftly, the first round of the Spelling Bee was anchored by a Team Member, Ms. Damilola. Six students were disqualified from the first round; students in this category went on a head-to-head battle because only two contestants would be eligible to proceed with the contest.

The saving contestants were picked to go on the second round with the first three persons. The battle continued and eventually, there were overall three winners, in which two of the winners are SS1 pupils. Gifts were given accordingly; a certificate of excellence was presented to the winners while that of participation was given to other contestants.
